Photos are literally a snapshot in time\, and I relish giving my flowers more time to be seen and loved. \nI’m often asked why I always use my business name rather than my own; it’s because it reflects the roots of my inspiration. I grew up on a small dairy farm in Pennsylvania\, and named my photography business in honor of my late father. My love of the land and everything that grows on it is deep in my soul\, a bond with and a gift from my dad. \nI have been a photographer most of my adult life\, though primarily for work as part of a career in communications. I finally stopped ignoring a different potential side to my photography during the coronavirus pandemic. The idea of pursuing a more playful\, creative version had been germinating — pun intended — in the back of my mind for months\, and eventually I gave it a try. I’m having even more fun than I imagined. \nA quote by botanist Luther Burbank from more than 100 years ago hangs in my studio: “Who does not love flowers? For whom will not flowers make more sunshine?” My photos are a reminder to take time to see and embrace the extraordinary all around us.”

Join us on May 9th from 5-8pm to meet this fearless painter\, musician\, and all-round Renaissance Woman in person and fall under her spell. \nTitle: Curiosities \nFrom Kelly’s website: Kelly Scudieri’s figures stare back at you unabashedly\, with soul-revealing eyes\, often surrounded by what at first glance appears to be an arbitrary environment. Combining realism and surrealism\, her characters\, surrounded in majestic color studies\, come to life. To Scudieri\, the mystery is a part of the beauty of the art. “It’s not so much about “who” specifically these characters are as to the human complexities they represent.” \nScudieri is a graduate of Shepherd University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Art. After 13 years dedicated to the mental health field\, she delved full time into her art in 2003 and was received graciously.  \n

Stephen’s arrestingly different and fascinating pottery pieces are huge favorites in the shop\, from functional conversation starters like his weird\, wonderful ‘Fish Plates’ to his gleaming glazed fruit creations. And he’s promised us new work we’ve never seen before for this show! \nTitle: ‘Hand-Sculpted Pottery the Wright Way’ \nAbout Stephen: “Stephen Wright owns and operates THE WRIGHT HAND DRUM COMPANY. Steve is the designer of his instruments\, and makes each one by hand with his specially formulated and fired clay. The drums he makes are inspired by traditional clay instruments\, as well as those of his own design. Some of the clay percussion instruments he makes include bongos\, bongo sets\, doumbeks\, ubangs\, ghatams\, claypans\, and shakers\, as well as the gunta drum which he designed himself. Besides being a clay drum maker\, teacher\, and ceramic artist with twenty years experience\, Steve also performs regularly on drum set and hand percussion . . . . \nWRIGHT HAND STUDIO is a fully equipped clay studio located in Hagerstown\, Maryland. Steve Wright teaches five classes weekly\, teaching both Wheel and Hand-building Techniques. The studio is Steve Wright’s personal studio where he produces his own work.
