As he enthusiastically shares\, “I’m looking forward to painting scenes of the tri-state area (WV\, MD\, PA). Like New England\, this area is so rich in history it provides an abundance of subject matter that I’m excited to interpret in my art.” Supported wholeheartedly by his “better half\,” Jane\, and their two furry shop assistants\, Riley and Piper\, Tom invites you to experience his artistic journey through this vibrant collection. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a delightful afternoon celebrating art\, history\, and community. \nABOUT: “Tom Gately is a local artist in central Massachusetts. He began painting as a young man in his teens and twenties. After an extended hiatus to pursue a career\, family and the renovation of a historic (1756) home in Brimfield\, Massachusetts\, he rekindled his passion for painting in retirement.  He has won awards for watercolor painting at the 2023 Massasoit Art Guild annual show\, the 2024 Leicester Art Show and was honored with the Vernon Graham Memorial Award for excellence in watercolor painting.\n“I’ve always found inspiration in the architecture and landscapes of New England. I’m especially drawn to the light and shadows that only the change of seasons in New England can provide.”\nTom and his wife Jane and their two dogs\, Riley and Piper\, moved to Shepherdstown\, WV\, in the fall of 2025 to be closer to family. “I’m looking forward to painting scenes of the tri-state area (WV\, MD\, PA). Photos are literally a snapshot in time\, and I relish giving my flowers more time to be seen and loved. \nI’m often asked why I always use my business name rather than my own; it’s because it reflects the roots of my inspiration. I grew up on a small dairy farm in Pennsylvania\, and named my photography business in honor of my late father. My love of the land and everything that grows on it is deep in my soul\, a bond with and a gift from my dad. \nI have been a photographer most of my adult life\, though primarily for work as part of a career in communications. I finally stopped ignoring a different potential side to my photography during the coronavirus pandemic. The idea of pursuing a more playful\, creative version had been germinating — pun intended — in the back of my mind for months\, and eventually I gave it a try. I’m having even more fun than I imagined. \nA quote by botanist Luther Burbank from more than 100 years ago hangs in my studio: “Who does not love flowers? We can’t wait to see you there for an afternoon overflowing with inspiration\, fun\, and meaningful connections! \nBRUCE WILDER ‘A Study in Trees’ Art show June 14th – July 31st 2026 Photography on display at Gifts Inn Boonsboro \nOPENING RECEPTION: June 14th\, 2026 from 1 – 3PM. \n  \nABOUT: Bruce Wilder is a Keedysville resident who dabbled in photography since he was a child. “My dad was always taking pictures\, so my interest grew from that experience\,” he said. “For years\, all I took were black-and-white images that I developed and printed in my own darkroom. When digital came along\, I began doing more color work.” \nWhile working in other fields\, as a carpenter\, author head-shot photographer\, then later on the owner of Turn the Page Bookstore\, Wilder also participated in many photography and/or art contests and won several. He admitted he might be considered a professional photographer\, but he added\, “It’s not my main job.” \nAs a freelance photographer living in the Western Maryland area Wilder has freedom to move about and photograph what he likes. He has a studio in the local area and\, recently\, has focused on portrait and fine art figure work there. While\, alternately\, he focuses on landscape and natural scenes when traveling across the U.S. or abroad.
