Ghostly North and South soldiers at the Battle of Antietam drift tiredly through the cornfield in this wonderful rendering of the quiet moments of war. It’s framed in reclaimed local barnwood with a soft off-white mat. You can almost hear the rustling of the corn, and the exhausted gasps of the soldiers. Filmed in black and white, with the dodge-and-burn technique used to create the re-enactors’ images in the darkroom. Signed by the artist.
