In modern days it has taken on the properties of averting the evil eye and warding off negative energies, and bears significance in both Judaism and Islam. This five-layered hand-cut birchwood hamsa has been carefully crafted by Krista Trovato.

Birch Wood Symbolism – As the birch is a pioneer species this gives it a symbol of rebirth, new beginnings and growth. It’s a sacred tree within the mythology of the Celts and is thought to have very protective influences.
