🎨 Calling All Artists: Share Your Vision with Us!
We are excited to invite artists to submit their work for consideration! Submissions are reviewed continuously, and we encourage you to showcase your creative expression and artistic talent at Gifts Inn Boonsboro. We value the unique voice each artist brings and are eager to explore your works of art. Here’s everything you need to know to submit your work and become part of our vibrant community.
How to Submit: Please send your submissions via email to info@giftsinnboonsboro.com. If your work aligns with our gallery’s vision, we’ll reach out to discuss the possibility of an in-person meeting, if applicable, to bring your artwork into the space.
What to Include in Your Email:
- đź“ť Your Story: Provide a brief letter introducing yourself and offering insights into your artistic journey, inspirations, and themes. Include essential details like your full name, any preferred nickname and/or pronouns, the town and state you currently live in, email, and phone number.
- 🖼️ Images of Your Work: Attach high-quality JPG images of your artwork, with descriptions and pricing for each item. Alternatively, you can provide a link to your online gallery.
- 🎨 Your Artistic Journey: Include your artist’s resume, highlighting your education, exhibitions, and other exciting projects, contests, and/or shows you’ve participated in. We have a wide range of artists from all walks of life and all are welcome to apply.
We’re excited to learn about your vision and see your creativity come to life!
Important Considerations:
- Space & Timing: Our gallery space is limited, so timing can affect when and how we feature new work. You will be contacted if we are interested in your work and a date arranged later on for a specific GIB or Boonsboro, Maryland town event if we can not integrate your artwork into the shop immediately.
- Content Guidelines: We review artwork with nude subjects on a case-by-case basis and do not accept pieces with sexual imagery, themes, or derogatory content. Holiday and religious themes are also carefully considered, if brought in at all, they are typically shown for the holiday season only.
- Walk-ins: We encourage all submissions to be sent via email.
Shop Policy:
Gifts Inn Boonsboro operates as a consignment shop, sharing profits with our artists. We retain 35% from sales for our services, leaving you with 65%. Please consider this when pricing your work.
We also occasionally purchase art outright: from various artist-exclusive wholesale websites, for consumable items like chocolates and honey, and we have worked with artists who asked for us to purchase their art directly, this is done on a case-by-case basis.
The rights to your artwork remain with you. We ask for your permission to feature your work on our online platforms. If you have your own preferred pictures of your art, like for a website or another platform, please let us know. We would be happy to use them to maintain consistency.
You can remove your artwork anytime, but a heads-up is appreciated. Please, call ahead (preferable a day or so before) so we can gather items before you wish to remove them. Alternatively, if you are an established artist with us, we request a call before any new artwork is delivered to us.Â
