Description

Digital print of photograph of ghostly soldiers making their way home after a rain-soaked, skirmish-filled retreat from Gettysburg. Most of the Southern forces crossed the swollen Potomac river here at Falling Waters on a hastily built pontoon bridge. The original photo was handmade using film photography, dodge-and-burn technique, and chemical processes within a darkroom. Captured with historically accurate reenactors in local civil war locations by Tim Johnson of Tim Johnson Photos in black and white film photography.
