Sunshine and Pastel Dust – At Gifts Inn Boonsboro

In the realm where creativity reigns supreme, there resides Amy Berringer, a local enchantress who dances amidst chaos, weaving vibrant tapestries of whimsy and splendor in her artistry. With a brood of six young muses, she orchestrates a symphony of colors, clay, and captured moments, painting the canvas of her life with unfettered passion. Hailing from the wilds of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, she now calls Northern Virginia home, where her artistic endeavors take flight across various mediums. Whether through the lens of her camera, the clay beneath her fingertips, or the strokes of her paintbrush, Amy’s talents transcend boundaries, encompassing photography, ceramics, painting, graphic design, and the nurturing of creative minds through the teachings of art.

Her latest creation, “Sunshine and Pastel Dust,” shall grace the halls of Gifts Inn Boonsboro from October 11th to November 30, 2024. This unveiling coincides with the 16th Anniversary celebration of Gifts Inn Boonsboro, beckoning all to partake in the magic of her artistry. Join us on October 11th from 5pm to 8pm as we revel in the wonders she has crafted for our hearts to behold!

Meet The Maker – At Gifts Inn Boonsboro

Craig Fowler has been making his unique and wonderful silverware wind chimes since the mid-80s. Using only silver-plated spreaders, forks and spoons, and adding his ball peen ‘nubbles’ to enhance the tones, his chimes are as pretty to listen to as they are to see. But he’s got more tricks up his sleeve! Craig also makes bud vases, ornaments and jewelry, but most exciting are his little Pocket Angels. Each of the five major branches of the Armed Services are represented in these little pewter angel medallions, on key chains to make them easy to carry or hang, letting you carry a little extra protection right in your pocket.
His most famous creation is a magnificent wind chime which appeared in the movie ‘When A Stranger Calls.’ We have an exact replica in the shop! Drop by during Greenfest and see it, and meet Craig!

Meet the Maker – At Gifts Inn Boonsboro

Some of us just can’t resist stuff that sparkles. Jennifer Strickland, the featured artist on May 4th, gets girls like us because she’s one too. That’s why she got into her craft of creating fused art glass. She takes dichroic glass, which has infused metals, and uses it to make unique colors, textures and forms for her shimmering glimmering magical pieces such as jewelry, nail files with their own sheaths, pillboxes, purse holders and bookmarks, as well as plates so luscious in color and form that you’ll need to display them prominently when not in use.
A music teacher by trade, Jennifer relaxes by firing up her kiln and bringing beauty into the world. She makes glass dance!
