‘Metamorhosis’ with Tom Gately – At Inn Boonsboro

Join us for an enchanting art opening reception at Inn Boonsboro on February 15th, 2026, from 2 to 4 PM, featuring the original watercolor works of recently relocated artist Tom Gately. His captivating series, “Metamorphosis,” beautifully captures the essence of his change, growth, and transition from New England to the scenic Potomac River Valley. Tom has found endless inspiration in the charming architecture and landscapes of Boonsboro, MD, and Shepherdstown, WV. As he enthusiastically shares, “I’m looking forward to painting scenes of the tri-state area (WV, MD, PA). Like New England, this area is so rich in history it provides an abundance of subject matter that I’m excited to interpret in my art.” Supported wholeheartedly by his “better half,” Jane, and their two furry shop assistants, Riley and Piper, Tom invites you to experience his artistic journey through this vibrant collection. ABOUT: “Tom Gately is a local artist in central Massachusetts. He began painting as a young man in his teens and twenties. After an extended hiatus to pursue a career, family and the renovation of a historic (1756) home in Brimfield, Massachusetts, he rekindled his passion for painting in retirement.  He has won awards for watercolor painting at the 2023 Massasoit Art Guild annual show, the 2024 Leicester Art Show and was honored with the Vernon Graham Memorial Award for excellence in watercolor painting.
“I’ve always found inspiration in the architecture and landscapes of New England. I’m especially drawn to the light and shadows that only the change of seasons in New England can provide.”
Tom and his wife Jane and their two dogs, Riley and Piper, moved to Shepherdstown, WV, in the fall of 2025 to be closer to family. “I’m looking forward to painting scenes of the tri-state area (WV, MD, PA). Like New England, this area is so rich in history it provides an abundance of subject matter that I”m excited to interpret in my art.””

About Abigail Richon: “Nature has always inspired and enthralled me.  It has been the subject of choice throughout my endeavors as an artist. There is a majesty and peace found in nature that feeds the human soul, calms our racing minds, and grounds us.  It is this essence that I attempt to capture in my artwork – to have that element to bring into our homes.”

Abigail’s work has been exhibited in galleries in Frederick, Silver Spring, Boonsboro, and Hagerstown.  Her work has been included in both juried and unjuried shows.  One of her pieces was chosen for exhibit at the state capital building in Annapolis, MD, as well as exhibited in the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts as part of the Cumberland Valley Artists and Photographers Exhibition.

Behold her exquisite collection of shimmering charms and beguiling jewelry – each a masterpiece in its own right!

With a mantra echoing, “Life is too short not to have fun jewelry,” along side her renowned watercolor jewelry line, Linda is delving into new realms of creativity. Her ‘Garden Magic’ ensemble boasts hand-painted beads, meticulously molded into ethereal forms that grace her jewelry pieces. Adorned with these bespoke creations are semi-precious stones, glass beads, and treasures unearthed. The ‘Mosaic Marvels’ collection, her second revelation, weaves together minuscule tiles, beads, and rare trinkets to craft mosaic treasures that elevate any attire.

‘Destination Inspiration’ Watercolor Show At Inn Boonsboro

Gifts Inn Boonsboro is delighted to offer ‘Destination Inspiration’, an art exhibit by popular local painter Sharon Benoit.
Sharon is a fine artist who has worked in the local area for decades, in the watercolors we know her for best, but also acrylics and even murals. Her background in pottery and textiles lends her an intimate appreciation of colors, textures and the tactile nature of art. When you stand in front of one of her pieces, you not only feel as if you could easily step into it, you long to do so.
Sharon’s evocative landscapes and dreamy vistas show off one facet of her talent, “Realism is an excellent description of my work. I paint from nature, the abundance of beauty surrounding me. I love the outdoors, the rustic charm of century old barns, the smell of the air while walking next to the ocean in the fall, or the feel of soft powdery sand of a tranquil beach on my feet. Painting is my way of sharing with you the places I’ve been and the beauty I’ve seen and felt.”
